7.20am After an early morning swim, I refuel with a warm bowl of cinnamon porridge topped with blueberries and honey. For my morning voiceover session, I drink heaps of water, eat an apple and also have a peppermint tea in the studio. I’m a sucker for dairy but stay well away from coffee with milk because it makes your mouth dry and clicky.
12.15pm A vegie rice-paper roll and a small bowl of steamed prawn and chive dumplings.
3.30pm An iced matcha with oat milk, plus a punnet of blueberries and some carrots with hummus as a snack.
6pm Dinner at a friend’s place of miso-glazed salmon, sesame greens and jasmine rice.
6.30pm I wind down with camomile tea.

Top marks for… A beautifully balanced day with wholegrains, legumes (hummus) and plenty of colourful fruit and veg to feed your gut microbes, while the salmon and prawns deliver quality protein and anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats. Hydrating well around recording sessions is a smart professional move.
If you keep eating like this you’ll… Maintain energy, healthy skin and strong immunity. With regular fish and plant diversity, you’re also building long-term cardiovascular and brain health. Just make sure you get enough protein across the day, especially with early swims and busy schedules.
Why don’t you try… Adding an extra protein boost at breakfast — perhaps some Greek yoghurt or soy milk with your porridge — to better support muscle recovery after swimming and keep you fuller for longer. Swapping white jasmine rice for brown rice or adding some edamame to your rice-paper rolls would lift your fibre even further. And look for calcium fortified soy and oat milk for bone health.
