3. Pasilio Tosi – 3
Overall, a quiet night, although did make six tackles.
4. Caleb Delany – 7
Great in the lineout, winning six and stealing another. Played with plenty of physicality.
5. Isaia Walker-Leawere – 7
Strong over the ball. Proved that he will be a big loss next season.
6. Brad Shields – 8
A throwback performance. Disrupted the lineout, made a team-high 12 tackles, and claimed what could be the try assist of the season, with a stunning kick that led to Kini Naholo’s second try.
7. Du’Plessis Kirifi – 9
A dominant 40 minutes from the captain. Scored a nice try from a lineout drive. Won a couple of turnovers, set the tone. A true captain’s knock.
8. Brayden Iose – 6
Did lots of work that the stats won’t recognise. Finished with 10 tackles.
9. Ereatara Enari – 3
Did a decent job in a rare start. Missed five tackles, which is concerning, and showed the Hurricanes are not as lethal without Cam Roigard at halfback.
10. Lucas Cashmore – 4
Made his first start and the weather didn’t play ball, which limited his opportunities to shine. Did well kicking before coming off early in the second half.
11. Fehi Fineanganofo – 4
Had very limited chances to stamp his mark on the game, although there were some strong carries. The Super Rugby try-scoring record is safe for another week.
12. Jone Rova – 7
Won a big turnover for his side. Made the most of his opportunity in the starting side. Claimed a well-deserved try.
13. Billy Proctor – 9
A strong performance from the All Blacks midfielder. Made many powerful carries, had four offloads and was credited with three try assists.
14. Josh Moorby – 9
Scored four tries in a dominant display with the ball in hand that featured six line breaks. Great player with ball in hand although did have some misreads on defence.
15. Callum Harkin – 6
Had some nice moments at fullback and first five-eighths where he finished the match. Was handed the goal-kicking duties and it was a tough night.
Bench
16. Raymond Tuputupu – N/A
Came on for a brief cameo and had one lineout thrown.
17. Xavier Numia – N/A
Came on late and didn’t get the chance to stamp his mark.
18. Siale Lauaki – 5
Had some decent moments when coming on the field. Had a nice carry in the lead-up to Moorby’s fourth try.
19. Hugo Plummer – 4
Not many chances to showcase his skillset. Did make seven tackles in his limited time.
20. Devan Flanders – 6
Got through plenty of work after playing the entire second half. Some nice moments with the ball, along with eight tackles.
21. Jordi Viljoen – 6
Came on for the last 20 minutes in a rare appearance this season. Had some nice moments, showed plenty of speed, and that could have been on display more if not for the wet weather.
22. Bailyn Sullivan – N/A
Another brief cameo.
23. Kini Naholo – 9
What a return to Super Rugby after a year on the sidelines with an ACL injury, that will no doubt start those All Blacks discussions again. Marked his return with two tries within minutes of entering the field and had some powerful carries.
