Special Correspondent : Advocate Enamul Haque, widely known as Enamul Dorji, has resigned from the newly announced Khilkhet Thana Awami League convening committee, alleging that he was designated as the No. 7 member without prior discussion or his consent.
He submitted his written resignation letter to the President of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League today, Friday (October 9). A copy of the letter was also forwarded to the General Secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League.
In the resignation letter, Advocate Enamul Haque stated that the new convening committee for the Khilkhet Thana Awami League, under the jurisdiction of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League, was published on October 3.
He later learned through social media that he had been appointed as the 7th member of the committee. However, no prior discussion was held with him regarding his inclusion, nor was his consent obtained.
Highlighting his professional identity, the lawyer wrote, “I am a professional advocate, and I must regularly represent standard clients in court proceedings. A vested quarter, with ill intent and without consideration, included my name in the said committee to entangle me in controversy.”
Under these circumstances, considering real and humanitarian grounds, he stated that he is voluntarily and consciously resigning from his position in the Khilkhet Thana Awami League and urged the authorities to accept his resignation.
