RED EARTH CREE NATION, SASKATCHEWAN – RCMP say an eight-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a school bus on a First Nation in Saskatchewan.
Mounties say the school bus stopped on Wednesday afternoon to let out the boy on the Red Earth Cree Nation, about 360 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
RCMP say the boy started walking in the same direction as the vehicle and was struck by the bus.
Police and emergency responders provided first aid but the child died on the scene.
RCMP say the bus driver remained at the site and no charges have been laid.
