“Robyn was the most beautiful human I have ever met. Through all adversity, she smiled, hugged and laughed her way through,” he said.

“Broken hearts amongst all her family and friends, she will be missed by all who knew her.”

The incident occurred on the upper level of the stadium about10.17pm when the concert finished and as patrons began to leave, a spokesman for Venues NSW, which operates Allianz Stadium, said.

“Rather than use stairs, the woman attempted to step over seating rows. She lost her footing and fell,” the spokesman said.

“This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time.”

A venue staff member and nearby guest, a qualified medical professional, ensured the woman was in care about 60 seconds after her fall, and paramedics assisting her had to make their way through many thousands of departing patrons, the spokesman said.

At the time, a NSW Ambulance spokesperson confirmed that paramedics were called to the scene.

“We treated her on scene to injuries to her face and head and took her to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition,” they said in a statement.

About 40,000 fans attended Williams’ XXV Australian Tour in Sydney on Thursday, with his nine-date run sold out at every performance.

The former Take That singer is due to play on Wednesday night at Melbourne’s AAMI Park, in the same month a four-part Netflix docuseries of his life was released. This masthead has contacted Williams’ management for comment.

The death comes on the back of another rock concert tragedy last Friday. During Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour performance in Rio Di Janeiro, which took place during a heatwave, 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado died.

According to reports, she fainted at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium where Swift was performing and was taken to hospital, where she died of a cardiac arrest.

Machado’s father says he is seeking answers from concert organisers following reports that they prevented concertgoers to bring in water during the extreme heat. Swift postponed one show after the death due to the conditions where the apparent temperature — a combination of temperature and humidity — hit 59 degrees.
