Strong Winds Topple Towering Metal Christmas Tree

What was supposed to be one Rio de Janeiro city’s Christmas main attraction became a major fiasco when a metallic 50-meter Christmas tree was toppled by strong winds in the early hours of Friday, December 8. According to local reports, the tree, made of metal and fiberglass, had not yet been inaugurated and cost the city of Niteroi about $1.8 million.
