The son of an Israeli hostage has branded the United Nations a “big disappointment” after a vote for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Yair Moses’ parents, Gadi and Margalit were taken by Hamas during the terrorist group’s horrific attack on October 7.

Margalit was freed during the ceasefire, but Gadi still remains hostage in Gaza.

The United States vetoed a United Nations Security Council vote for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Speaking about the United Nations, Yair said the organisation is “supposed to be for everyone”.

“It is supposed to be humanitarian but it’s not,” he told Sky News Australia.

“It’s not doing what it is meant to be – to make sure the people that were kidnapped from their home need to be home.”

Of the roughly 240 people taken hostage by Hamas, 137 remain in captivity as the Israeli ground assault to eliminate Hamas continues.
