Fireworks lit up the sky over Rome as the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve. This footage, posted by X user @RositaSteenbeek, shows the dazzling display of lights just after midnight on January 1, 2024. According to the official City of Rome X account, the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnics was banned from 31 December 2023 to 6 January 2024. “Failure to comply with the provisions contained in the ordinance entails fines of up to 500 euros”, the city said.
