Police have confirmed a person has died after a crash involving two vehicle crash on State Highway 10 in Northland today.

Emergency services were called to SH10 near Cottle Hill Dr in Kerikeri shortly after midday.

A portion of the highway was closed and traffic diverted through Wiroa Rd and Te Ahu Ahu Rd. The road has since reopened.

A police spokesperson said investigations into the cause of the crash were ongoing.
