Fiji Rugby Union and Paradise Beverages’s Fiji Gold brand signed a two-year sponsorship deal yesterday.

This was a landmark sponsorship says Paradise Beverages general manager Mike Spencer.

Spencer said that the brewery company has been supporting rugby for the past 48 years since it was established 67 years ago and will continue to back its grassroot development.

“Fiji Gold is now the official beer of Fiji rugby,” he said.

“Fiji has a deep root of passion for rugby at all levels whether it be playing on the village green or following the Flying Fijians or Fiji 7s at international competition.

“Rugby is woven into the fabric of Fijian life and this sponsorship cements our commitment to supporting the sport at all levels and amplifying Fiji’s presence on the global stage.

“With the shared ethos of “share your golden moments with Fiji Gold” this partnership not only celebrates sporting triumphs but also promotes unity and camaraderie among fans nationwide.”

FRU interim administrator Simione Valenitabu applauded Paradise Beverage’s continued support for rugby in the country.

He hopes that the partnership will go beyond the signed timeline will take Fiji Rugby to greater heights.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with a company that shares our passion for rugby and our dedication to making positive impact in our communities through the sport.

“Together, we will work tirelessly to inspire and empower the next generation of rugby talent in Fiji.”

The sponsorship value for the two years was not disclosed.
