‘Atrocious’: CNN reporter blames ‘sloppy attribution’ for Harvard University president resignation

The Australian’s Media Writer Sophie Elsworth reacts to a CNN reporter blaming “sloppy attribution” for former Harvard President Claudine Gay’s resignation.

The CNN reporter said the former Harvard President didn’t “steal anyone’s ideas” instead blaming the resignation on “sloppy attribution”.

Ms Elsworthy called the report from the CNN reporter an “atrocity”.

“What’s that journalist thinking, I mean he’s in the media,” she told Sky News host James Macpherson.

“Plagiarism is a serious offence and he should be calling it out not sort of what appears to be excusing it.”
