The Fiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA) has put out its annual calendar of events for the year.
Highlighting the year will be their Olympic qualifying events and the monthly tournaments to be held at the Commander Stanley Brown gym at Walu Bay.
FABA secretary Viliame Kasanawaqa said they are hopeful of also hosting some regional events.
FABA will also host accreditation courses for referees, judges and boxing coaches which will be $50 per person.
“In order to expand the sport, we need to increase the number of referees and judges, therefore we need also make sure that this is a priority,” Kasanawaqa said.
The first local competition is on January 19-20 which is the Golden Gloves championship.
Meanwhile, the Oceania Boxing Federation (OCBC) is yet to confirm that the Oceania Championship will be hosted in Suva in July.
It will be confirmed following the board of directors meeting which will also finalise the discussions and the details of its two major 2024 events: the OCBC Elite Men’s & Women’s Championships and the OCBC Youth/Junior Men’s & Women’s Championships.
OCBC will communicate the information as soon as IBA inserts the events in its 2024 calendar and release the information on its website.

- January 15th -18th FABA Level 1 Coach & R&J Course Suva
- January 19th – 20th Golden Gloves – Suva
- February – March British Royal Marines Tour – Suva
- February 24th BRM VS Combine Services – Suva
- 2nd March BRM vs Fiji Invitation – Suva
- 26th May – Olympic 2nd Qualifier FABA Boxers participating – Thailand
- 02nd – 8th July FABA hosts Oceania Boxing Championship – Suva (to be confirmed by OCBC)
- 26th July – 11th August Paris Olympics – France
- 20th October – 6th November IBA Youth Championship – Croatia
