A pedestrian has been hit by a car, becoming trapped under the vehicle, when a van allegedly sped into a convenience store in Sydney’s west on Monday.
The female pedestrian was pushed through a shop front on Hornsey Road in Homebush West by the van about 5pm and became trapped for a period of time, police have said.
It is understood she was walking along the footpath when the van hit her.
Emergency services worked to release the 26-year-old, who was then taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition but suffering hip and leg injuries.
Extensive damage was done to the convenience store during the crash, with a large police presence at the scene.
Two people are alleged to have fled the scene following the crash, but police confirmed two men were arrested just after 6pm.
One man was taken to Westmead Hospital for observation, the other is being held at Auburn police station and is assisting police with their inquiries.
A crime scene has been established, with investigations ongoing.
