The French Ski Federation gave the biathlete a six-month ban, five of which were suspended, and fined her $58,819 (€30,000), but half of that figure was suspended.
This allowed her to compete at the Winter Olympics where she put her finger to her lips as she crossed the finish line in her first place.
Her victim, Braisaz-Bouchet, finished 80th.
Speaking to Eurosport, Simon asked that she now be left in “peace” to compete.
“I would like you to leave me be and to perform. The page has been turned within the team – we have spoken about it.”
The French athlete had already won the biathlon mixed relay at the Milano-Cortina games and is set to compete in Women’s 12.5km Mass Start near the end of the games.
This is the latest in a turbulent start for biathlon at the 2026 Winter Olympics after Norwegian Sturla Holm Laegreid confessed to cheating on his girlfriend after winning a bronze medal.
However, he said he regretted bringing this story up and apologised to his teammate, Johan-Olav Botn, who won gold.
“I am not quite myself these days,” he said to Norwegian state broadcaster NRK, “and not thinking clearly.
“My apologies go to Johan-Olav, who deserved all the attention after winning gold.
“They also go to my ex-girlfriend, who unwillingly ended up in the media spotlight.”
Botn dedicated his victory to teammate Sivert Guttorm Bakke, who died last year.
