According to the Telegraph, Prince Harry has spoken with some of Diana’s friends and associates about potential anniversary projects.
A source told the newspaper that the Duke of Sussex was “still considering the most meaningful way to honour her legacy during this important anniversary year”.
Multiple reports have suggested a documentary is among the options being explored, although no project has been formally announced.
Page Six reported that Harry has also been seeking the involvement of Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer.
In Spencer’s recent memoir Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, he wrote that he had declined numerous documentary requests about his sister, including one from a “nephew”, though he did not identify which nephew.
The renewed focus on Diana’s life has also coincided with the release of Spencer’s memoir, which contains a number of claims about events following Diana’s death.
Diana died aged 36 after a car crash in Paris in August 1997.
Spencer wrote that King Charles, formerly the Prince of Wales, “sounded giddily elated – like a lottery winner” on the night Diana died three decades ago.
That allegation was strongly disputed by Buckingham Palace.
William and Harry previously worked together on documentaries marking the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death in 2017, including Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.
In the years since, relations between the brothers have deteriorated, with public appearances together becoming increasingly rare.
