This week’s Nice Neighbours are Peter and Joke Gerritsen. They were nominated by Shirley Carley from Ōmokoroa.

Carley said Peter and Joke were very generous people.

She said they always helped those around them in Ōmokoroa village.

They delivered furniture, bedding and clothing to Kawerau – items that were unwanted, but might be helpful for others.

They collected food for the foodbank at the local church and much more. They took people to hospital appointments and delivered meals to sick people.

Peter said: “We help people when there is a need, and we are grateful to (still) be able to do so”.
