Heart Heroes Fiji champion Kehila Felisha Morel was emotional as she tried to find words to express her gratitude to the Damodar Group for initiating a stationery drive for 100 primary and secondary school students with rheumatic heart diseases (RHD).

The stationery drive was launched by Damodar Group chief executive officer Divyesh Damodar and Heart Heroes Fiji manager Erini Tokarua yesterday at the CineLounge Damodar Cinemas in Laucala Bay.

“You never know, one day a prime minister, a president, a doctor or even a professor will come up to you and say thank you. Thank you for the books. Thank you for the bags. Thank you for thinking of us, thank you for taking our needs into consideration,” Ms Morel said.

While delivering his speech, Mr Damodar said this was a contribution to RHD patient support and he was pleading with members of the public to join in the cause.

Heart Heroes Fiji is a civil society group dedicated to the fight against acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and RHD in Fiji.

The stationery drive will end on January 22, 2024.
