The construction of the 10-storey Methodist Church of Fiji’s Reverend John Hunt Centre Tower is forecast to be completed by June 2026.

This was revealed during the groundbreaking ceremony for the tower yesterday.

Lakoyani Management Pte Limited chief executive officer Sereana Qoro said the project would cost $46 million.

“The building is a 10-storey building; there will be eight stories of office space; two stories of retail shops, food courts and retail shops,” Ms Qoro said.

“There will be business activities on the two floors,” she said.

“Project has taken a while, but we praise God today that his word never fails; what he has started he will see to completion.”

She acknowledged the church leaders for their foresight despite many difficulties.

“We praise God for their lives, the President, General Secretary, and Deputy General Secretary.

“We are here because the church leaders have given their commitment to this project.”

She said the church has received funding approval from the HFC Bank.

“We look forward to tenancy from Government because we believe that these are stable tenants.

“This was a testament that during COVID-19, our tenant FICAC kept paying rent religiously.”

She hopes construction will take 24 to 30 months.

“We have given ourselves 30 months; we look forward to the official opening by June 2026.”
