Sky News Contributor Joe Hildebrand has voiced his concerns over calls to allow teenagers to access voluntary assisted dying.

Mr Hildebrand’s comments come after a submission from the ACT Human Rights Commission, revealed in The Australian on Thursday, argued that restricting euthanasia to people over the age of 18 amounts to “discrimination”.

Mr Hildebrand said the calls from the ACT Human Rights Commission were “deeply concerning”.

“Honestly the idea that you would extend this to teenagers whose brains are still developing is absolutely insane,” he told Sky News host James Macpherson.

“And it is quite mortifying but also quite illuminating that it’s coming from the seat of our national government.”
