Daniel Andrews had all the mainstream media “under his thumb” during his time as premier of Victoria, according to Sky News host Rowan Dean.

“None of the media in Victoria would stand up to this character,” Mr Dean said.

In an extended interview on the Socially Democratic podcast, Mr Andrews slammed Sky News Australia’s “after dark bulls**t” as well as suggestions he was a “control freak” during his time as state leader.

“He’s criticising the media, Sky in particular, and yet in the COVID years, it was only Sky that actually stood up to this character,” Mr Dean said.

“Dan – yes, you’re right to be angry with Sky because they were the only media to come after and boy, they needed to go after you.”
