Dog of the Week: Ralph

This is Ralph. He’s big, and we’re sure you’ll agree, a very handsome boy! He’s a four-year-old and an absolute delight to have as a buddy. He just wants to be where you are.

Like all greyhounds, he’s quite relaxed and lazy with a big heart. Give him a short play session with a squeaky toy and he’ll love it. This will then see him snooze by your side all day. Ralph is also not much of a barker, so your neighbours will appreciate him too!

He weighs a bit over 36 kg, but don’t let his size give you the wrong impression: Ralph walks calmly by your side on a lead like a true gentleman. He won’t fight you for ascendency.

We are certain Ralph could join a family home and be an absolutely sensational family member, one who’ll love you and bring a sense of calm to your home.

Frank

Pig of the Week: Frank

Yes, we have a pig named Frank, and he’s pretty smart. He can sit for treats, loves pats and walks on a lead, but truly, that’s not what we want for him.

Pigs should be pigs and not display behaviour more commonly associated with dogs. Pigs are social animals and love to dig and make a mess of any backyard. That’s what has probably led him to end up with us.

As winter rolls around, we’re using more and more hay to keep him healthy and warm and poor Frank is getting frustrated with being stuck by himself in a pen. He needs some piggy friends to teach him how to pig.

We’re asking property and farm owners with pigs to adopt Frank. He’s a clever and affectionate young boy and deserves more than he’s received in life so far.

Gus

One big-hearted Canberran has made Gus the happiest dog in the world … and we couldn’t be happier either. Photo: RSPCA ACT.

Pawnotes: In what can only be described as some of the best news ever, our boy Gus has been adopted and is finally living a wonderful life. He’s seen it all, and his story will end with Gus being a happy, healthy, loveable family member.
