Dog of the Week: Sinka

This little boy is a 10-month-old Cattle Dog crossed with a Staffy, and while those two breeds are mostly wonderful pets, beautiful Sinka comes with his own special challenge.

Sinka is deaf. But he’s very clever and has already made adjustments. For example, when you meet him, saying “Hello” won’t interest him. But waving does! He knows a wave means you’re greeting him, and his tail will quickly start wagging.

His ideal owner will be someone patient, consistent and experienced, or willing to learn, who understands that Sinka will need structure, boundaries, ongoing training and plenty of appropriate outlets for his energy.

Sinka is set for a wonderful life, and it’s amazing to see how animals like this can adjust to their challenges, become great pets and have fulfilling lives.

Cat of the Day: Maurice

This little chap is a sweet boy who we’d really love to see adopted quickly so he can enjoy his life. He has previously lived in a caring home but struggled to fit in.

We’d really love to see Maurice find a home with an experienced cat owner or family who can help him relax, ease his anxiety and become a great pet.

Poor Maurice has a heart murmur, and our vet team has detected indications of heart disease. But today he’s enjoying a good quality of life and has plenty of time left on this earth.

All animals deserve the best life possible, and even though Maurice will have ongoing medical needs, there’s a wonderful and friendly cat in there waiting to be your new best friend.
