SOLOMON Islands men’s football team humiliated American Samoa 11 goals to nil to advance to semi-final play off show-down in this Sol2023 Pacific Games.

This final pool D match was held at Lawson Tama yesterday.

Solomon Islands ledd A/Samoa 7 goals to nil in first half and add another four unanswered goals in the second half to seal the victory against the determined A/Samoa.

Solomon Islands top Pool D with 6 points and 12 goals after completing their final pool matches.

John Orobulu scored 5 goals, Bobby Lesley 1 goal, Gagame Feni 3 goals and Molea Tigi 2 goals.

In their pool matches Solomon Islands beat Samoa 1 nil and American Samoa 11 nil.

Solomon Islands national men’s football will either play against either Tahiti or Fiji at Semi-Final.

This is the impressive campaign for Solomon Islands in the Sol2023 men’s football.

Prime Minister Hon Manasseh Sogavare was at the VIP room witnessing this important match.

In Pool B Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu ended their tough match with draw; both teams scored 1 goal each and shared 1 point each.

After this dramatic match, Vanuatu tops the pool and has qualified for semi-final.

Pool A and Pool C will have their matches today.

In Pool A, Cook Islands will take on New Caledonia and in Pool C North Marianas Islands will take on Tahiti.
