Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) general secretary Viliame Takayawa says the party has nothing to say about the removal of Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Lynda Tabuya as deputy leader of the People’s Alliance (PA) over allegations of personal misconduct during an official trip to Australia last year.

Ms Tabuya’s conduct was called into question by a PA member who lodged a complaint based on allegations that also involved former Education Minister Aseri Radrodro.

“We cannot really comment on it as it has nothing to do with us,” said Mr Takayawa.

When questioned whether the party knew that the allegations also named Mr Radrodro, Mr Takayawa maintained that SODELPA had nothing to do with the investigation, nor had it received any formal complaint on their member of Parliament.

“We have not received any formal or written complaint on that so we cannot really comment on it.”
