Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he believes the Voice to Parliament referendum can still succeed without the Opposition’s support as Australia’s political system has “changed substantially”.
“We live in different times from when past referendums have held,” Mr Albanese told Sky News Australia.
“Of course, this is the first referendum that’s been held this century and we know that referendums are difficult to pass.
“But the time has come.”
