Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says it would have been “a massive shock’’ to lose his wedding ring after it slipped off his finger while celebrating a Premier League win.
As the 56-year-old was set to salute fans after the 4-2 victory over Newcastle United on Monday (Tuesday NZ time), he realised his wedding band was missing.
Klopp frantically scrambled around searching in the grass before a TV camera operator appeared to point out the shiny ring’s whereabouts.
The Premier League’s current longest serving manager told Sky Sports losing the ring “would have been really awful”.
”I lost it in the sea once and needed a professional diver. I had a massive shock, but it’s back.”

Former Liverpool players Michael Owen and Steve McManaman, commentating on Sky Sports, saw the funny side of the incident.
“OK, you can go home now,’’ Owen quipped as Klopp held the re-found ring up to the crowd.
Klopp has been married to his second wife, Ulla Sandrock, since 2005.
