Emergency services are responding to a serious two-vehicle crash that’s left five people injured and part of SH1 blocked.
The crash, on State Highway 1 at Piarere in South Waikato, was reported about 5.30am.
“Five people are reported to have serious injuries,” a police spokesperson said.
SH1 is blocked between Horahora Rd and Paparamu Rd.
