The French Ambassador to Fiji, Francois-Xavier Leger, felt privileged to witness French businesses expand into Vanua Levu
He said this during the opening of the Bred Bank’s Labasa branch opening recently.
The ambassador said French companies had well settled its footprints in Fiji and are now contributing and supporting the economic growth and activity of the local economy.
Mr Leger said these companies were most concentrated in the private sector and he saw this as vital for growth.
He reiterated that the French embassy would continue to facilitate connections and activities of these companies in Fiji.
“I feel very proud, very happy to be in Labasa part of the inauguration of the (Bred Bank Fiji) branch,” the ambassador said.
The growing stride that Bred Bank has undertaken has been an encouragement to other French businesses to invest in Fiji.
Mr Leger said the French modernisation where the Bred Bank introduced automated deposit machine (ADM) would, in time, help Fijian customers advance with banking technologically.
He said the ADM was expected to work wonders with customers preferring convenience over long waiting queues.
