Eight months after he went missing the body of a Sydney man has been found in a crawl space beneath an apartment block in the city’s south.
Zoran Popovski, 54, went missing in Kogarah on April 14.
According to Channel 9, Mr Popovski told his daughter Rebecca he would come and see her that afternoon.
But the grandfather’s family went to police the next day after he failed to make come home.
“We are very upset, we are actually distraught,” Rebecca Popovski said at the time.
“We have no answers, we have no leads, Dad has actually disappeared.”
On Tuesday, NSW Police said that when the man could not be located or contacted, officers attached to St George Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
But despite searching and calling for CCTV there was no sign of where Mr Popovski may have gone.
However, on Tuesday, month later, his body was found.
A plumber made the tragic discovery in a crawl space beneath a unit block. An image from the block showed a small door, with a pram stored beside it, leading to the space under a flight of stairs.
Residents told Channel 7 it was occasionally used for storage.
“My husband used to always complain because he said there is something smelly there,” a resident told the broadcaster.
Police have said a crime scene has been established and an investigation will open into the circumstances of Mr Popovski’s death.
