A 28-year-old has opened a law firm in Labasa.
Kaushik Kumar of Rakiraki began his legal journey just five years at Legal Aid.
Kaushik Kumar Lawyers (KKL) is located at Shop 13, Northwind Plaza along the main street of Labasa Town.
Last year to private practice and then the opportunity to open his law firm happened when his wife, a dietician, was transferred to Labasa.
“I have always loved law, and I had promised myself that one day I will open my law firm,” the 28-year-old said.
“I contemplated opening a law firm when I became financially stable, and I did exactly that.”
His other goal was to have a steady client base.
Mr Kumar invested $15,000 from his savings to start up. He currently has two staff members, a lawyer and an office manager.
His passion for law is stemmed from his ever-ready spirit to help individuals get legal representation and to serve the people.
“My main message to any law student at university; you have to love law to be successful,” Mr Kumar said.
“Don’t just stick to one specialty, challenge yourself – say to yourself that one day you will harness the power of self-success.”
The law firm is opened from Mondays to Fridays between 8am and 5pm and on Saturday between 9am and 12pm.
