Saliceni Raiwalui is ready to take up the challenge of his new post as the special administrator chair for the Nadi Town Council.
He will replace Lawrence Kumar.
He will be assisted by special administrators Prem Singh and Eliki Batirokomoko.
“I thank God for always giving me the wisdom in everything,” Mr Raiwalui said.
“I know the new task that has been handed over to me will not be easy. But I am ready to take up the challenges ahead of me,” he added.
The 74-year-old was a former Police officer who was trained by the British in the 70s. After his retirement, he engaged himself in community work around Nadi.
He was a political party candidate for the then Soqosoqo ni Vakavulewa ni Taukei (SVT), Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA), and later joined The People’s Alliance.
Today the new officials will meet at the council chambers for an induction.
