Fijian Drua rookie utility back Isikeli Rabitu is a definite starter in tomorrow’s INKK Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy clash against holders Jack’s Nadi at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
Rabitu confirmed to SUNsports yesterday, that he would be playing for the Maroons.
“Yes, we’ll be challenging the Farebrother,” Rabitu said.
The Lautoka side has also got Drua development player Frederick Ralulu at lock with former French Top 14 forward Taniela Ramasibana and former Drua rep Raikabula Momoedonu.
Lautoka coach Peniona Ratu said they had been aiming to reach the challenge stage and would take things as they come.
In the final round of the Skipper Cup, Lautoka upset Nadroga 10-5 in Sigatoka where Rabitu scored all their points.
The Maroons are often regarded as one of the most unpredictable teams during the Farebrother Challenge.
In 1979, an unknown Lautoka side ended Nadroga’s eight-year-in-a-row reign on the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy with a 6-4 win at Lawaqa Park. Lautoka’s try was scored by winger Samuela Yalayala.
