“We have prepared well, and the players are not afraid to take up the three consecutive matches,” he said.
Kadavu women’s rugby team.
Kadavu women’s rugby team head coach Etuate Nauro told SUNsports yesterday that his side must win two out of the three promotion relegation matches in order to be included in the ANZ Marama Cup next season.
“We will not take these matches lightly; Navosa, Tailevu and Cakaudrove are strong teams in their own right,” he said.
“The team had to prepare again on Monday for the promotion relegation matches straight after our Ranadi Cup final win last week.”
Nauro said they will give it their best performance in order to qualify for the Marama Cup.
“We have prepared well, and the players are not afraid to take up the three consecutive matches,” he said.
“We will need to polish our lineouts, offside lines and passing.”
Nauro said he is hopeful his side will play a good match against Navosa.
“I told the players that we won the Ranadi Cup, but it’s not over as we must overcome the three promotion relegation matches,” he said.
“I’ve seen the players committed to their training during the preparation because they are eager to play in the Marama Cup.”
Nauro has urged Kadavu rugby fans to show their support in the team’s campaign towards a spot in the Marama Cup.
“We need their prayers and voices at the grounds as it will influence the players in the field,” he said.
“We will give our best effort and strength in the game against Navosa.”
The promotion relegation match between Kadavu and Navosa will kick off at 11am at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this Saturday.
