A person is dead after what is thought to have been a medical event at an Auckland beach, police say.
The person was brought out of the water at Narrow Neck Beach on the North Shore on Sunday evening. They were helped by medical staff, but could not be revived, police said.
It was expected the death would be referred to the coroner.
