Dog of the Week: Cleo
Lovely Cleo is so sweet. When you see her in her kennel, you immediately make that noise. “Naaaaaw. Heeelllooo.”
It’s her face you see. She has a kind of perpetual sad look on her face that blasts straight through your puffer jacket and into your heart. She’s a pretty girl, but that face – oh my, it’s adorable.
Cleo is an American Bulldog, fairly large and with a lovely nature. Like so many animals who end up at a shelter, she’s a bit unsure of visitors at first, but when she’s warmed up to you, she’s all in. She’ll love you.
She’s a gentle giant; she has previously lived with children and loves a good play time. At just under three years of age, she has a lifetime of love to offer your family.
That other Barbie’s had over 250 careers … this Barbie just wants to be your perfect companion. Photo: RSPCA ACT.
Cat of the Week: Barbie
Before you ask, yes, Ken was also here at the shelter. A lovely little cat. But he was adopted, and now poor Barbie is here alone, waiting to find her very own Dream House.
Barbie is a tiny bit shy, so she needs an individual with patience. Perhaps someone with experience adopting from a shelter can help Barbie blossom and learn.
Our team has already done lots of work with this girl, and she is gradually learning that people are friendly. But she is timid. For a true cat lover, she would be perfect.
Barbie was housed with Ken, so we know she does like other cats once she gets her confidence, so homes with existing cats should be OK. Do you have room in your heart for a shy kitty in need of a home?
Pawnotes: While the winter months keep some of us stuck inside, don’t forget your pooch. They might need an extra blanket and, if possible, some indoor time.
